      Dancing Tours in Israel

      If dancing is a 'must do' on your travel list, make sure to explore the wonderful options Israel can offer for you in the field of dancing.

      Dancing in Israel incorporates a wide variety of dance styles, from contemporary dance, which in Israel has won international acclaim, traditional Israeli folk dancing to ballet, modern dance, ballroom dancing and flamenco and even breakdancing.

      People come from all over Israel and many other nations for the annual dance festival in Karmiel, held in July.

      Dancing Tours to Israel - Jerusalem

      Day 1: Airport – Jerusalem

      Welcome to Israel!
      Arrival at Ben Gurion Airport, near Tel Aviv.
      Reception by a representative of WeRIsrael and transfer to the hotel in Jerusalem.
      Take your time to freshen up at the hotel.
      Opening dinner – 'Israeli Dance – history and developments'
      Overnight: Jerusalem

      Dancing Tours to Israel - Western Wall

      Day 2: Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance - Jerusalem Old City

      We will open our tour with a visit to the Israeli version of the Juilliard School of Dance - The Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. We will tour the campus, meet with students, and get an overview of the school.
      From there, we will continue to the Old City of Jerusalem. We will discover the variety of cultures, customs, tastes, and smells of the Old City, one of the most interesting places in the world!
      Ascend the Mount of Olives and enjoy the panoramic view of Jerusalem. Visit the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in the Christian quarter. Walk through the Muslim quarter and the Armenian quarter and continue to the Jewish quarter and the Western Wall.
      Continue with a walk through the Oriental Bazaar and buy yourself and your family a souvenir. Don't forget to bargain!
      Return to the hotel and freshen up.
      Overnight: Jerusalem

      Dancing Tours to Israel - dead sea

      Day 3: Masada – Dead Sea

      Drive to the Dead Sea area and enjoy beautiful views of the Judean Desert.
      Stop on the way to see the interesting graffiti on old buildings next to the Dead Sea shore, protesting the drying up of the Dead Sea. From there, continue to the Masada Fortress: Ascend and descend by cable car and join a guided walking tour around the fortress.
      Continue on to the Dead Sea shore – float in the water and cover yourself with natural mud! Your skin will feel so healthy that you won’t want to leave!
      Return to the hotel in Jerusalem.
      Overnight: Jerusalem

      Day 4: Jerusalem - Machane Yehuda Market - Vertigo Eco-Art Village

      Open your day by visiting one of the most colorful places in Jerusalem - Machane Yehuda, the famous market of Jerusalem. Do a tasting tour in the market.
      Visit the different stands and discover the unique and fascinating stories behind the people there. Experience the market through the stories, the people, the smells, and the atmosphere.
      Take some time to shop in the market. Ask your guide which is the best shop to buy spices to take home!
      At noon, visit the Vertigo Eco-Art Village, located in the hills of Jerusalem.
      Here, you will hear about the learning center’s educational program on how to integrate sustainability into our lives through the use of art and by environmental and social awareness and responsibility.
      The village includes people with special needs in their activities.
      Drive to the north of the country.
      Overnight: Kibbutz hospitality in the western Galilee

      Dancing Tours to Israel - Contemporary Dance

      Day 5: Ga'aton International Dance Village & Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company – Acre

      *If the visit is in July, for the whole day, we will attend the Karmiel Dance Festival, the biggest dance festival in Israel.
      Drive to Kibbutz Ga'aton and visit the International Dance Village & Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company. This village is home to more than 80 dancers from Israel and from abroad. You will be told the story of the founder of the village, Yehudit Arnon, who survived the Holocaust in Auschwitz concentration camp and vowed that if she survived, she would dance for the rest of her life. During the visit, we will have a guided behind-the-scenes tour, we will watch a rehearsal and performance and meet the local dancers. If time permits – we will attend a workshop given by one of the leading dancers.
      In the afternoon, drive to Acre, a major Canaanite and Phoenician port. Visit the Fortress of Acre, the Knights' Hall, the Great Mosque, the walls of the city, and the market.
      Overnight: Kibbutz hospitality in the Western Galilee

      Day 6: Tel Aviv - Inbal Dance theater - Israeli folk dances - Mayumana show

      Drive to Tel Aviv.
      Spend time in the morning visiting the Inbal Dance Theater at the The Suzanne Dellal Centre for Dance and Theater. The theater was founded in 1949 to introduce oriental dances to Israel especially Yemenite dance traditions. We will hear about the specialty of the theater – mixing bible stories with dances.
      In the afternoon, join an Israeli folk dance class and afterwards, take part in a dance lesson for the public on the Tel Aviv beach promenade.
      In the evening, go to see the fabulous Mayumana show in the old harbor of Jaffa. Mayumana is an ensemble of people, performing an extraordinary mix of music (particularly drumming) and dance. The show is built on a combination of the whole ensemble and the skills (‘meyomanut’ in Hebrew – where the name comes from) of each individual participant.
      Overnight: Tel Aviv

      Dancing Tours to Israel - Jaffa

      Day 7: Tel Aviv - Jaffa - Neve Tsedek – Adloyada parade - eatwith

      Start the morning with a tour of Old Jaffa. Stroll through the old city and the Artists' Quarter and enjoy the perfect breeze from the sea.
      Continue to the small authentic streets of the neighborhood of Neve Tzedek, with its many galleries and local artists.
      At noon, drive to Holon, a city near Tel Aviv and meet the organizers of the Adloyada parade that takes place every Purim holiday. The Adloyada (literally meaning "Until one no longer knows") is a custom and consists of a big and colorful carnival parade with children in costume and folk dancing, accompanied by decorated trucks. Hear about the history of the parade, the traditional folk dances, and the atmosphere as a whole.
      Tonight, we will have the chance visit local homes in Tel Aviv and eat a delicious dinner through the eatWith startup initiative.

      Dancing Tours to Israel - pub

      Day 8: Tel Aviv - local dance session - pub crawl

      We will conclude the tour with a joint session of dance with local dancers in Israel! 
      In the afternoon, free time for shopping/hanging out at the beach.
      To conclude the tour in a really fun way, tonight you will experience a pub crawl in the city that never sleeps!
